La melancolía en las composiciones de David Wise es ejemplificada de manera contundente con Life in the Mines. Aunque quizás no tan recurrente como otros temas del soundtrack de Donkey Kong Country, los arreglos de este tema son un verdadero deleite, empezando por la increíble versión de Kenji Yamamoto.
